Los Dolores Pilgrimage — Tinajo (Lanzarote’s Patron)

Lanzarote’s largest pilgrimage and one of the most important in the Canary Islands, honouring Our Lady of Sorrows — the “Virgin of the Volcanoes”, credited by tradition with halting the Timanfaya lava flows in 1736. Held 10–15 September in Mancha Blanca (Tinajo): the romería offering on the 14th and the solemn function and procession on the 15th, an island public holiday. Features the Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folklore Festival and the Island Craft Fair.
