Clear Atlantic water and volcanic reefs
Lanzarote is one of the best places in the Canaries to learn to dive. Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen is the classic shore dive, with easy entry and reefs that drop away into deeper water, and dive centres there and in Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and Puerto Calero run try-dives, courses and boat dives, including trips to the Museo Atlántico. Rays, groupers and octopus are common sightings.
