The island’s living capital
Lanzarote’s capital is often skipped by visitors but rewards a wander: the lagoon of Charco de San Ginés ringed by fishing boats and terraces, a seafront promenade and city beach at Playa del Reducto, and the Castillo de San José, a fortress on the water that houses the island’s modern art museum (MIAC), restored by César Manrique.
