An 18th-century fortress on the Arrecife waterfront that César Manrique turned into the International Museum of Contemporary Art (MIAC). Spanish and international modern art hangs inside the old stone walls, and downstairs a glass-fronted restaurant designed by Manrique looks straight out over the harbour, a lovely spot for lunch or a sunset drink.

Highlights

  • Contemporary art inside a fortress
  • Manrique-designed restaurant over the harbour
  • Sunset views across the port
  • Easy stop from Arrecife centre
