Cueva de los Verdes

Part of the same six-kilometre lava tube as Jameos del Agua, this cave was once a refuge for islanders hiding from pirate raids. A guided walk leads through vast volcanic galleries lit to reveal reds, ochres and shadows — ending with one of the most memorable optical surprises on the island, which guides ask visitors not to spoil.
