César Manrique & ArtTeguise
Fundación César Manrique
The artist’s home in the lava
At Taro de Tahíche, Manrique built his home on top of a river of solidified lava, with living rooms set inside five natural volcanic bubbles linked by tunnels. Now a foundation and museum, it displays his own work alongside pieces by Picasso, Miró and others, and tells the story of the man who shaped the way Lanzarote looks today.
