Perched on the rim of the Guanapay volcano above the old capital, this 16th-century castle was built to watch for the pirate raids that repeatedly struck Teguise. Today it houses the Museo de la Piratería, telling the story of those attacks, and the walls give one of the best views on the island, across Teguise and out to both coasts.
